WHO WE ARE
Hi, I'm Stephanie, the Founder and Owner of The Veritas Connection.
I am a Legal Recruiter serving attorneys, law firms, and corporations across the Southeast. I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, and I earned my Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University and my J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. In law school, I served on the Loyola Law Review’s Editorial Board and graduated cum laude.
Prior to recruiting, I held a judicial clerkship. I then entered private practice in New York City and Houston before transitioning my legal career to becoming a career services professional at the University of Houston Law Center.
My experience practicing law in different legal markets and working with aspiring attorneys at the University of Houston Law Center gives me unique insight and perspective into the recruiting process. I work with my clients and candidates to offer genuine advice and ensure a fulfilling and lasting professional relationship.
I now have ten years of legal practice and recruiting experience. I am excited to start working with you to find your new legal role or your new attorney talent.
"VERITAS" /: “truth” or “reality” in Latin
What's in a Name?
In Roman mythology, Veritas, meaning Truth, is the Goddess of Truth, a daughter of Saturn and the mother of Virtus. Veritas was the Roman symbol of truthfulness, which was considered one of the main virtues any good Roman should possess. The Latin word “veritas” now appears in the mottos of many renowned institutions including colleges, universities, religious orders, and corporations.
“Veritas” has a personal connection to my backstory and career—Veritas Hall is the name of the building that sits on St. Charles Avenue in front of Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where I completed my J.D. The historic mansion was built in 1906 as the home of a New Orleans businessman and later used by the St. Mary’s Dominican Sisters of Peace as a library for St. Mary’s Dominican College. The building was purchased by Loyola University in 2012.
In my work as a recruiter and experience as a professional, I have always led with “veritas” … truth, authenticity, integrity, reliability, credibility, honesty, dependability, and trustworthiness. Being genuine, sincere, and making authentic connections is what drives my practice. I look forward to hearing your truth, earning your confidence, and celebrating your new professional journey.
